for a written test or an interview.
What are the qualifications needed to apply?
The most important qualification we look for is 'learnability'. We
define this as the ability to derive generic conclusions from specific
instances and apply them to new problems.
For applicants with less than one year's experience school/college
grades and performance in the entrance exam will be taken into consideration.
For experienced employees qualifications depend on the post applied
for.
Does one have to be a software professional to
join HiPACE?
For entry level positions:

from respected universities.
Could you tell me the typical career growth path
at HiPACE?
For a typical software professional in HiPACE, the growth path is
as follows:
Developer: A person who joins HiPACE with less than one year's work
experience works as a developer for the first couple of projects.
Here his/her primary task is to pick up expertise in various tools
in software development while developing software programs.
Module leader: After the initial stint as a developer, one moves to
the role of a module leader. A module leader interacts with customers
in addition to developing software and leading his team.
Project Leader: With experience, an employee moves to the role of
a project leader. Here he takes charge of a project, sets project
standards, works to build customer relationships, provides technical
assistance to the project team, develops a good work atmosphere in
the project team, and works as an interface with other internal departments.
Business Manager: Based on performance and experience a software professional
progresses to the role of a business manager. Here he/she manages
more than one customer. Issues relating to customer, people, and business
are the primary responsibility of the BM.
Later one can aspire to head any of the SBUs (Strategic Business Units).
This of course is only one of the routes in the HiPACE career path.

Could you tell me about on-the-job training? Who
conducts it?
We have an in-house Education and Research department that handles
continuous training of employees. Well qualified professionals, including
members holding Ph.ds staff this department.
For those with less than one year of software experience, there is
a 14-week induction program. This covers all aspects of a software
developers skill requirements. After that the education is project
specific, or based on personal initiative.
How does your pay scale compare with the rest
of the Industry?
HiPACE believes in a holistic approach to compensation. This includes
factors like housing assistance, stock options, soft loans and asset
